A few weeks ago, I received a call from a notary in England…
A great-uncle, whose existence I barely even knew about, had left me a very strange inheritance.

When I arrived at his old manor house, everything was dusty… abandoned… frozen in time.
But in the middle of the attic stood this chest.

The notary explained that it was supposedly more than a thousand years old.
Inside… several ancient gold ingots.
Unique pieces, marked with old royal seals: the Sun, the Moon, the Eye, the Serpent, the Key… and the Crown.

According to the experts, their value would be beyond measure.
But before leaving, the notary told me something very strange…

He looked at me very seriously and said:

“You may keep the ingots…
but never all of them at once.
And above all… entrust them only to two sincere people.
For these ingots possess an ancient power:
they recognize true friends.”

Of course… I thought it was completely absurd.
And yet…

Look carefully.
These ingots are held captive by this ancient rod.
I’m going to slide them on one by one… like this.

Now, I need two people I can trust.
And I think that could be the two of you.

You, Patrick…?
The Moon? A very good choice…

And you, Mathieu?
The Key… perfect.

Legend says that when two sincere people are brought together…
the ingots react on their own… and free themselves.

So let’s see… if the magic of this inheritance truly exists…

(performance of the trick)

Incredible…

Apparently, the legend was true.
These ingots recognized two true friends.

And in the end…
I believe that no treasure in the world, not even all the gold of the kings of England,
is worth more than a sincere friendship.
